You Can Help Save Lives in Rural Kenya

Something as common as a sore throat can quietly lead to heart failure. But a simple, school-based screening program is changing that story—one child at a time. Since 2022, local volunteers in Kapsowar have scanned over 9,100 young hearts, catching early signs of Rheumatic Heart Disease before it’s too late. Dorcas gave birth on the side of a dirt road in rural Kenya—four babies, all born at just 25 weeks. By the time she reached the hospital, only one remained alive. What followed was an 80-day journey of heartbreak, hope, and the fierce love of a mother determined to see her son survive. We’ve officially broken ground on a major project in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse—bringing 48 new homes and a community center to Kapsowar. This new space will help us welcome more doctors and families while supporting the long-term growth of our hospital and mission.
