The hospital kitchen may not be the first place you think of when you imagine healthcare—but every day, it nourishes more than 130 patients and over 100 staff. After more than 75 years of cooking over open fires, a new kitchen is under construction that will quietly transform patient care for generations to come.

Before a surgery. Before a diagnosis. Before an admission. Nearly every patient story begins in Kapsowar’s Outpatient Department—and after decades of wear, a transformation is finally underway.

Crowds gathered, gifts were announced one by one, and hope filled the room. In a true Kenyan harambee, our community rallied behind Kapsowar Mission Hospital—and the results surpassed every expectation.

We’ve officially broken ground on a major project in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse—bringing 48 new homes and a community center to Kapsowar. This new space will help us welcome more doctors and families while supporting the long-term growth of our hospital and mission.

A team of eight from Heritage Church in Ohio recently spent 12 days serving at Kapsowar Mission Hospital in rural Kenya.
